The Curdie Books were written by George McDonald (C.S. Lewis’ favorite author). They are fun and inspiring stories about integrity and faith; full of grand descriptions of landscapes and characters, some of which are truly bizarre! Curdie and Princess Irene go on wonderful adventures and have to defeat not only goblins but also people who have become ‘like animals’ (at least on the inside). We will be using our own imaginations to do art based on the descriptions of the characters and landscapes in the stories. We will use various fun art mediums such as paints, chalk/oil pastels, sketching, origami, etc. The students will also be listening to excerpts of the stories as they work on the projects each day. Come join the fun and bring your imaginations!
- Ages 7-12
- July 17-21tst, 1:00-4:00 each day
